SMD displays use packaged LED components mounted onto a circuit board. The packaging principle is shared with indoor SMD displays; an outdoor system also needs a cabinet, electrical design and protection suitable for the installation environment.
Pixel pitch describes the distance between pixel centres. Outdoor viewing often involves a different combination of audience distance, screen area and content, so pitch selection should begin with the actual site.
The site shapes the screen.
Sunlight, weather exposure, mounting, wind loading, heat and maintenance access all need assessment. Brightness, ingress protection and structural details must be confirmed for the specified model and site; outdoor suitability is not determined by pixel pitch alone.
